Don’t you just love all the Vivid haircolor looks we’re seeing now? Would you make the leap and do like this lady? We can’t stop staring at this tropical cocktail look by Kayla Boyer who used Pravana professional haircolor on her hair. It seems like everyone is coloring their hair this season, and to make your favorite hue or hues last longer during the summer months try:

♦1♦ Wearing a hat or scarf when under a hot summer sun

♦2♦ Avoiding very hot showers. The temperature opens up your mane’s cuticles, releasing color and moisture

♦3♦ Using a hair protector with SPF when in sun, pool or ocean to keep hair from fading

♦4♦ A thermal protectant to help reduce fade and to protect against heat damage from styling tools

♦5♦ Using  a good daily conditioner, but don’t leave on for a long period of time. Avoid deep conditioning or at-home masks after you have your hair colored—they may fade some hues.

Happy summer!

A great way to protect your strands before heat styling is to apply a leave-in conditioner.

Total Betty

Singer Betty Who released “Betty Pt. 1” this week, and her album cover shows off her amazing platinum locks in a totally cool and edgy style. The sides are shaved super short, while the crown is left longer, allowing for all sorts of trendy styles, including this curved mohawk version. Lengths can also be combed to one side for a pixie effect and curled for a halo vibe. Too cute, right? And perfect for summer’s fashionistas…

Ombre: It’s Still A Thing

And it’s a thing we want. Hilary Duff shows just how much an ombre look is still on point, in fashion, and on our to-do list. The Younger star starts her color journey with mocha roots, then ends it with a pretty honey blonde. Seems like a great way to kick of summer, right?

Taylor In Red

Just in case you missed it, yes–that is Taylor Swift in Sugarland’s new music video for “Babe.” The singer, who co-wrote the song, plays a bad girl, and does it all as a redhead. (Quite a different red than her “Bad Blood” video!). We think Taylor looks gorgeous with scarlet locks. Don’t you agree?

Hi, Pony!

We all know ponytails are one of summer’s essentials, and lately, we’ve been seeing more and more of this classic version: the high ponytail. Starting at the top of the crown, the tail is held up high by a thick accessory (helping to add to its height), then waterfalls down. It can be worn with all the hair included in the tail, or just sections from the front for a partial-upsweep effect. It can also be worn with either shorter lengths that play above the shoulders, or super-long tresses (like Meghan Trainor’s) that cascade down the back. Here’s hoping the high pony is here to stay for the summer.
