The blunt cut edges create a gorgeous line, while the deep side part is just perfection. Whether it’s a wig or the real thing (we’re thinking wig), we can’t help but admire it greatly.

Lucy Hale looked incredible at last night’s Teen Choice Awards. Between her perfectly sleek bob, the green eye makeup and the ear jewelry (not to mention the BROWS), she had it all going on, and going on very well indeed. #hairinspo #beautyinspo

If your ends are extremely dry and frizzy, and your hair isn’t growing, it’s most likely time for a trim.

Hazelnut Foam

If you should splurge a coif care product, make it a moisturizing shampoo.

Cosmoprof North America, the award-winning, business-to-business beauty event and ultimate meeting point for beauty professionals, industry insiders and innovative brands, was held in July of this year at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. For three days, 40,000 attendees fully immersed themselves in all things beauty, including over 1400 exhibitors.

Staying true to its mission of providing unmatched brand-building resources necessary to creating healthy indie companies, the event delivers unparalleled opportunities–from domestic and international business development, to providing insights and inspiration through education, to delivering connections to social media influencers, trade and consumer media.

Sophisticate’s Hairstyle Guide is proud to be a Media Partner with Cosmoprof North America, and to share a glimpse of the weekend…

Paul Mitchell Legacy

The Beauty Changes Lives Foundation will honor the late Paul Mitchell with the Legacy Award on Sunday, March 31, 2019, during the 7th annual Beauty Changes Lives Experience co-hosted by America’s Beauty Show and Pivot Point International. Mr. Mitchell’s son, Angus, will accept the award honoring his father’s legacy.

An icon in the world of hairstyling and fashion, Paul Mitchell revolutionized the art and science of hairdressing while transforming the way the world thinks about hair care. Long before “environmental stewardship” was a mainstream component of corporate social responsibility, Mr. Mitchell pioneered innovations that ranged from alternative energy systems, and cruelty-free product testing to natural ingredients, including the Hawaiian awapuhi wild ginger still used as a primary ingredient in Paul Mitchell products. In addition to his contributions that protected the planet and its people, Paul Mitchell was also an advocate for professional education, and his approach to professional education lives on in the JPMS schools.

Mr. Mitchell becomes the 7th recipient of the award, which recognizes an industry professional whose career defined a commitment to supporting and empowering the next generation of beauty and wellness professionals. Previous recipients include Horst Rechelbacher (2018), Sydell and Arnold Miller (2017), Howard Murad, MD (2016), Leo Passage (2015), Tippi Hedren (2013) and Vidal Sassoon (2012).

Legacy honorees are selected by directors of the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation; a board representing some of the world’s leading beauty brands and influencers. “The Paul Mitchell brand represents the intersection of compassion and innovation – two elements that defined Paul Mitchell’s life and continue to be lived out by the company he founded,” said Lynelle Lynch, president of the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation. “We are humbled to honor his legacy.”

New season, new look! As your style pro to suggest some new ways to refresh your coif.

The new hot cut of the summer? The blunt bob. Khloe and Kim Kardashian did it, and now  Meghan Trainor has, too. The current trend is to wear it super sleek and straight, to show off the very straight edges. But we all know how much variety is the spice of life, so we’re looking forward to seeing how the stars change up the look…
