Back Off The Backcombing!

Backcombing, or teasing, is a popular trick to add volume to otherwise lifeless and/or thin strands. While this is a quick and effective technique, the process can also be very damaging to your precious mane! That’s why the hair experts at Viviscal came up with three equally effective alternatives to backcombing that you’ve got to try!

  1. Try Out A Thickening Serum: Daily use of a thickening serum can help you achieve fuller hair naturally so teasing will no longer be needed!
  2. Use Hair Nutrients: Vitamins can help dramatically change to health of your hair. For example: Vitamin C improves elasticity, Vitamin B7 strengthens and Niacin helps repair.
  3. Try Hair Fibers: Less hassle that weaves, adding volumizing fibers to wear you need it with instantly give the appearance of a fuller coif.

Debra’s Makeup How-To

Recreate Will & Grace star Debra Messing’s bronze goddess look! Celebrity makeup artist Jeannia Robinette broke down Debra’s entire beauty look explaining, “I wanted to create a bronze, golden goddess look for Debra. We went for a modern, classy beauty look with all the focus on the eyes. I really wanted the eyes to pop and keep everything else a bit more natural.” Copy Debra’s look in these 10 easy steps…

  1. To give Debra the bronzed glow we were after, I applied Star Bronzer “#2 “to her cheeks. Next I added a tiny bit of Lancôme Dual Finish Highlighter in “2-Luminous Gold” to the top of the cheekbone to enhance her glow.
  2. I finished off the cheeks with the Lancôme Blush Subtil Palette in “New Nude.”
  3. I applied the copper shadow from the Lancôme Color Design 5-Pan Eyeshadow Palette in “Kissed by Gold 102” all over the eyelid to start. Next I added the eggplant shade from the Lancôme Color Design 5-Pan Eyeshadow Palette in “603 Olive Soleil” to the crease of the eyelid.
  4. Under the eye, I used the Lancôme Drama Liqui-Pencil in “Chantilly” and blended it out with my finger for a really soft, light gold look.
  5. I wanted the lashes to be super bold and black so we layered on Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara to the top and bottom lashes.
  6. For the brows, I used Lancôme Sourcils Styler in “Brun.”
  7. First I lightly scrubbed her lips to exfoliate and then I prepped then with Lancôme Absolue Precious Cells Nourishing Cells Lip Balm. Debra and I wanted to create a really nude lip, to go with the copper eye so we used Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge in “Timide #237.” I also lined her lips with Lancôme Le Lipstique in “Bronzelle.”

CoverGirl Ayesha Curry!

Today, CoverGirl announced Ayesha Curry, star of “Ayesha’s Home Kitchen” on the Food Network and author of national best-seller “The Seasoned Life,” as the brand’s newest CoverGirl.

“My philosophy is all about seeking joy and creating balance in life. I’ve shared a lot about how I do this with food, family and faith, and now – through my partnership with CoverGirl – I want to share how makeup helps create those moments of happiness, confidence and self-expression,” says Ayesha.

Curry’s first role as a new CoverGirl will be starring in a campaign supporting the soon-to-be-launched Peacock Flare Mascara, available in November.
