RRRJes Macallan

RRR1Alyssa Milano
Alyssa Milano, a.k.a. Savannah “Savi” Davis, flaunts gorgeous layered waves. “The cut is a layered, shattered bob,” shares Parker. “Savi has a lot of changes in her life so now she’s changed her look, too—she’s more sassy and edgy.”

RRR2Yunjin Kim
Yunjin plays psychiatrist Karen Kim. To keep her look professional yet playful, Parker gave her swept bangs for softness and adds soft, rounded edges to her straight hair. “She’s going to have a lot of fun looks this season,” says Parker.

RRR3Rochelle Aytes
As Mistresses’ April Malloy, Rochelle plays a mother and career woman who needs chic yet simple style.  “We gave her a beachy wave look that is soft and easy to maintain,” says Parker. The celebrity hair pro also occasionally gives April a side ponytail for a mane switch-up.

CHERYL BURKE

RRRExclusive! Exclusive!

When you pair one of Hollywood’s most in-demand hairstylists with one of primetime TV’s hottest stars, you get mane magic! That’s what happened when stylist to the stars George Papanikolas (who was recently named Matrix’s newest Celebrity Hairstylist) created sizzling hairstyles for Dancing With The Stars beauty Cheryl Burke for an exclusive Sophisticate’s photo shoot. We’ve got your behind-the-scenes look right here…

RRR1Simply Divine

“This was my favorite look! I love it because I would love to be able to style my own hair like that every single night when I go out,” Cheryl says about this sassy silhouette. To get the look, George added extensions for fullness and created softer curls, which he then teased for a rocker-girl look.

RRR2

Going Natural

Cheryl showed off her natural beauty with this subtle, chic coif. “I love [the softer style] because it’s rare that I don’t get to wear a lot of makeup, especially on Dancing With The Stars where I’m always wearing makeup and my hair is fully done,” says the dance pro. “It’s nice to have a natural look…and you get to see my freckles!”

Rocker Chic

Farouk

Two of Farouk’s fabulous artists—Maurice Den Exter and Patrick Kalle—are helping you get stage ready with this edgy updo perfect for any rock goddess. Here’s a sneak peek at some of the steps behind the creation of this show-stopping silhouette…

Farouk
Working with blow-dried hair, start by dividing mane into triangular sections around the head, with the point of each triangle originating at the crown; twist each triangle and clip. Working with one triangle at a time, release the hair and spray with CHI Infra Texture Dual Action Hairspray.

Farouk
Working from front to back, curl and pin each section. Allow all curls to cool for five minutes before continuing.

Farouk
Comb the loose section of hair at the nape over the top of the ponytail base for a final smooth surface; secure with bobby pins. Spray hair with CHI Helmet Head Hairspray for a long-lasting style.

FABULOUS HAIR by Ken Paves

Ken Paves
You want it, and mane pro Ken Paves can tell you how to get it…at any age! Stylist Paves counts stars like Eva Longoria, Victoria Beckham among his clients, and he’s written a book titled You Are Beautiful. In our October issue, we feature an exclusive excerpt where Ken tells Sophisticate’s reader how to have beautiful hair, no matter what age you are. Here’s a sneak peek!

Ken Paves
In Your Teens and 20s…
“If there’s ever a time to be adventurous with your hair, it’s when you’re in your [teens and] twenties. While I don’t necessarily like to follow trends, I give [you] a free pass to be ‘trendy’ and experiment with different looks.”

Ken Paves
In Your 30s…
“You know more now than you did when you were younger, and you are getting a better handle on things. I like to think you’re becoming more polished—and your hair should reflect that.”

Ken Paves
In Your 40s…
“I find that many women in their forties resort to getting a haircut like their mothers have. That’s not a bad thing, but you don’t have to get your mom’s haircut now, if ever. Today’s forty is not yesterday’s forty.”

Ken Paves
In Your 50s, 60s, +
“I think it’s particularly important at this time in your life for you to be the one who reminds the world (and yourself) that you’ve still got it!”
