Sophisticate’s Blog:         Shailene Snips It Off!

BR1F9tlCQAMFqF_Being the dedicated actress she is, Shailene Woodley said sayonara to her long, golden locks for her upcoming role in The Fault in Our Stars—the movie adaptation of author John Green’s best-selling novel. But…that’s not all! The stunning star, who’s set to play a teenager with cancer, donated her tresses to Children With Hair Loss, an organization that provides human-hair replacements to kids who’ve experienced hair loss due to varies medical conditions.

Before sharing the results of her big chop on Twitter, Shailene opened up about her lengthy mane on her Tumblr page. “For the past five years I’ve been on an I-want-to-grow-my-hair-as-long-as-possible kick… About half way through my hair-growing escapade, I began to deeply look at WHY I was so keen
BR1sEh3CEAENPUFon creating flowing locks down my spine,” she wrote. “I finally came to the conclusion that hair, for me, was a symbol of strength… For the longest time, I was committed to never chopping it off. Cut to: now. On Saturday, it will be the shortest it’s ever been. And I feel so relieved, so ready, so dedicated.”

We think Shailene looks fabulous with a short snip and we’re so glad she gave her gorgeous strands to a good cause!
