Add a dash of spice to your mane with a red-hot shade that will transform your silhouette! All-Nutrient Regional Education Director/colorist Michael J. Kunz and hair pro Frances DuBose of London Hair in Mt. Pleasant, SC, gives us the 411…

1. “Today, color is rich without being flamboyant,” explains colorist Kunz. To create this coppery coif, he started with “Long, brunette hair, the perfect palette for a spicy mix of red and copper (known in cooking as Masala),” Kunz explains.

2. After hair is clarified with All-Nutrient’s Clarify ClarpHx treatment, a mix of three All-Nutrient hues is placed in panels on the tresses, made up of All-Nutrient Professional Haircolor in 7lC, 7RC and 6RC along with 20-volume developer, and allowed to process for 35 minutes.

3. Twenty-five minutes into processing, All-Nutrient White Lightener is mixed with 1 teaspoon of Hydrate All-Nutrient Pure Oil with Cream Processing Lotion and applied in a wet foiling technique directly over the color in key areas throughout the top and sizes. “This creates high copper notes,” Kunz says.

4. Once processing I s complete, color is rinsed with All-Nutrient Color Protect Colorsafe Shampoo and Conditioner. DuBose cuts hair into long layers to remove weight and enliven ends, and the front section is angled to create face frame. To style, All-Nutrient Smooth is applied and curls are scrunched while diffusing.
