Born and raised in the small town of Spartanburg, NC, Logen Hall had no idea the big things that were in store! As the winner of Alloy Entertainment’s web series, Talent: The Casting Call, the 17-year-old high-school student is on her way to stardom. Now starring in Talent as Kenzie Walsh, and with her first single, “On My Way,” under her belt, the singer has already started a promising career. In an exclusive interview, Sophisticate’s caught up with Logen to talk Talent, her signature curls and her best-kept beauty secrets.

What do you love most about being a singer?
I love that I can express myself through music and that I can inspire others—it’s a lot easier to reach people and send a good message with a song than through a speech. Music really affects people and touches them!

Let’s talk hair!
I have naturally curly hair, and I had never colored it before I began filming Talent—once I got there they just told me, “You know, you would look really great with some shorter layers in the front and with a bit of blonde highlights.” I was a little nervous because I’d never colored my hair—even though I’ve always wanted to—but now I absolutely love it!

What’s your favorite way to wear your hair?
You know, being naturally curly, I’m all about being natural and just being me. My favorite, besides my curly hair, is just going all-out, diva-big hair. That’s one thing I really like about my hair—I can really do anything that I want to do with it!

Name your favorite haircare products…
I’ve always used Pantene products, even since I was little. I’ve just now discovered Paul Mitchell’s Super Skinny Serum, and that works so well on my hair! I could have one of the frizziest bad hair days of my entire life, and I’ll just put a little of that in my hair, and it completely calms it down. It’s a bottle of amazing. I love it!

What’s your everyday makeup look?
I’m all about the natural gold tones for my eyes and peachy colored blush and lips. I’ve been using Clinique products for a long time, so I’ve always trusted that brand for foundation. I also like CoverGirl’s eyeshadows. I love making a statement with makeup, but I also like to keep it all natural and just be me.

How would you describe your personal fashion?
I have so many different styles! I mean, I have anything from my country girl with my cowboy boots and a sundress to a leather jacket and combat boots. I’m very eclectic when it comes to fashion. It just depends on what kind of mood I’m in. If I want to be edgy, I’ll put on my leather vest with a nude-colored, tulle dress and black studded sandals.

What’s the one item you can’t live without?
Boots! It’s awful. I have a fascination with boots, and I love when school starts and it gets colder because I can pull out every pair of boots that I own and wear those to school. It’s my favorite.
