Tell us about your hair!
TAE: I have long blonde layered hair. The underneath is brunette because I’m not a natural blonde. I’ve always known I was meant to be a blonde though ;). My natural hair is a lot like beach waves and I absolutely love it! The days when I don’t feel like taming it, I just curl a couple pieces and rock it. I try not to use too much heat and I also wash my hair with cold water. Warm water opens the pores and cuticles of your hair shaft which results in dry and brittle hair.
MADDIE: My hair is natural blonde and long. I love my all over layers because it adds more body when I style it. I haven’t had time to visit the salon lately but that’s always the look I ask for. My hair is pretty fine, but I have a lot of it! My hair is naturally wavy so I wear it that way in the summer because the beach wave look is always popular that time of year. I get it trimmed when I can and I use the leave in conditioner product “It’s a 10!” I spray it in my hair after I shower and brush it through with this AWESOME “Wet Brush.” It’s a brush that is made for wet hair so you aren’t ripping you hair out while you’re brushing it out after you shower! I LOVE it!
What is your favorite way to wear your hair?
TAE: A messy side fishtail braid is my go to hairstyle! It’s super easy & doesn’t require heat products. I just do a regular fishtail braid then pull out pieces of the braid to give that messy look.
MADDIE: I always curl my hair and bobby pin it to one side. I hate having hair in my face so it’s a hairstyle that looks really nice … and I’m not being attacked by your hair all day haha!
What are three hair products or tools you can’t live without?
TAE: I. Dry shampoo saves my life! I use it on a regular basis not only to get rid of oil but it adds volume & texture | 2. My curling iron | 3. I use “It’s a 10 miracle leave in product” after washing my hair to de tangle & condition!
MADDIE: I can’t live without my Conair 1 1-4 inch curling iron! They are cheap, last forever and don’t leave your hair smelling burnt. I can’t live without Suave dry shampoo and I always carry good teasing comb!
What’s a bad-hair day for you, and how do you fix it?
TAE: The days where my hair just doesn’t want to hold a curl frustrates me to NO end haha! So of course, I do my fish trail braid …
What beauty trait would you like to steal from your singing partner?
TAE: Maddie’s eyebrows always look fantastic. I need her to teach me how to do mine!!
MADDIE: Her eyelashes! She’s got perfectly curled lashes!
What’s your makeup routine?
MADDIE: I honestly used to hate putting on makeup because it took me forever! But we went to Sephora recently and they taught us how to do eye shadow in like two minutes! The trick is to use a good blending brush. I also have this mascara trick … curl your lashes, apply one coat of waterproof mascara and let it dry then curl again and apply a lengthening mascara. It will make them look so good people will ask if they’re real 😉
What’s your fashion style?
MADDIE: I’m a very simple girl when it comes to fashion. I typically wear a good pair of jeans, my favorite cowboy boots and a really fun top! I love lace tops so that’s always my go to or a cute dress.
Where you do you like to shop for clothes?
TAE: I am all about finding the best bargain! My favorite stores are TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Target, Forever 21, H&M, etc. I’m really into booties! They’re boots that don’t go higher than your ankle & I love them
What’s your favorite song from the EP?
TAE: Definitely “Girl In A Country Song” …I still remember the day we wrote it and we just had a blast!
What do you like most about making music?
MADDIE: I love being able to tell stories I’ve experienced and seeing people relating that story!
What reaction do you hope people have when they hear your music?
TAE: At the end of the day if people are connecting with our music, that’s all I can ask for. As a songwriter you pour your heart into songs and it’s the most gratifying feeling to know that it’s made at least one person feel something.
How would you describe your music?
MADDIE: Honest. Our music is always honest.
