Magical Holiday Looks /wp-content/uploads/2018/11/8.jpg

This holiday season, the right hair accessory can mean the difference between a look that’s naughty or nice—pick which one you want to be in our latest issue!

With her fiery personality, flirtatious essence and ability to always speak her mind, Brazilian bombshell Adriana De Moura walks the real housewife walk and talks the real housewife talk—and she does it all in style! Here, the successful art curator and star of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Miami chats with Sophisticate’s about her fierce fashion vibe, gorgeous brunette locks and head-turning makeup moves…

How do you like to wear your hair on a daily basis?
Day to day I just like to keep it simple. I wash it with a good shampoo, give it a good moisturizing, air dry it and let it go natural. My secret for when I do my hair naturally like that is to always finish with a cold rinse, because that always makes my hair the shiniest.

How would you describe your cut?
Usually I keep it long, but I recently just cut it and did the asymmetrical bob. It’s still long, but it’s by my shoulders and I’m loving it!

What do you love most about your new, shorter snip?
It’s easier to handle and I just feel fresh. It’s a trendy cut and it’s just a departure from long, heavy locks.

Do you have a go-to hairstylist?
I have several, but if I’m just doing a quick blow-out, I [go to a] blow-dry bar. I love them; they’re the best! When it comes to cut, I go to Danny Jelaca in Miami. He gave me my new haircut.

What did you like about working with Danny Jelaca for your new cut?
I wanted something more fashionable but I didn’t want it too short. Danny respected that I wanted to be trendy, but still keep some of the length. We still cut a good four inches off my hair, but kept it longer in the front so I didn’t freak out and think “Oh my God, my hair is too short!”

How do you maintain the health of your hair?
Before I started the show, my hair used to be so jet black and shiny that people used to stop me in the street and say “What do you do to your hair?” When you do TV, they do so much to your hair—the heat, the styling—and it starts to [lose] a little bit of luster. When I’m filming, I try to do a deep conditioning once a week with a mask or with pure Moroccan oil.

How have your hairstyles changed since starting the show?
One thing I used to love doing was part my hair down the middle, put it in a ponytail and [leave my] bangs out. Some people loved that and other people just gave me so much grief over it! So I just try to be a little bit more conscious on how I’m styling my hair because people can be brutal, let me tell you!

Would you say you’re good at styling your own hair?
If it’s straight, yes. If I’m doing a straight look I think I can do better than most people because I know what works, what products to use and how to make it shiny and bounce. If I need to curl it, I need help! I’m not good at curling.

If you could have any haircut and color for just one day, what would you choose?
I’d probably go blonde for a day just to see how it is. I just want to know if blondes really do have more fun, but I don’t want to do it permanently!

PhotoDTell us about your makeup routine…
On a day-to-day basis, I just like to stay natural so I do a tinted moisturizer, mascara and a nice lip—something in the nudes or pinks. At night, I like to pump it up a little bit. Either I’ll do a smokey eye and a coral lip, or I’ll do a big red lip and a simpler eye.

How would you describe your fashion style?
I’m trendy but still [like to] remain classic. I always like to follow the trends—whether it’s color, shapes—but I don’t like to be a victim of fashion.

Do you have any fashion advice to give?
I think the first thing you need to realize is what your strengths are in terms of body. Nobody is perfect, but everybody has something going for them. So first, you have to decide what that is. If it’s your legs, nice broad shoulders, or cleavage—you have to emphasize it according to your fashion sense. Enhance what you have! For me, I am lucky—I have skinny, long legs so I try to show them off in a nice way.
