Hailee Steinfeld nailed the magenta carpet in a bold & edgy look at the Billboard Music Awards. Beyond the metallic and black gown, her longer-than-long hair looked amazing, thanks to hairstylist Gregory Russell. “Hailee’s style was inspired by her sequined David Koma gown,” shares Russell. “I wanted to be sure to give her a modern look with varying textures that would pair perfectly.” Here’s how you can steal the Pitch Perfect star’s style…
- Apply a volumizing mousse to damp hair, then apply a heat-protectant.
- Blow-dry away from the face and through the ends using a large round brush.
- Create a deep side part. Taking 1 inch sections at a time, curl hair (all in the same direction) with a 1.5″ iron, pinning each curl until cool.
- Once cooled, brush out curls into waves and apply Matrix Style Link Over Achiever through the ends to add structure and shine.
- Apply styling gel through the roots to hold the hair away from the face; use flat hair pins to set. Diffuse-dry the gelled areas for 10 minutes, then remove pins. Spray with hairspray Matrix Style Link Style Fixer for hold.
