The Braid For Every Occasion

braid for every occasion 1

Sometimes you need the perfect hair look that you can wear to brunch with Mom, your second cousin’s wedding and on a date with you-know-who. Enter this very chic, very versatile braid look from stylist Brittany “Monroe” Minton at Michael’s Salon and Spa in Dayton, OH.

braid for every occasion 2Here’s the step-by-step…

1. Apply a volumizing product to freshly shampooed locks, starting at the crown; comb product through to the ends. Using your fingers to tousle and create a little texture, blow-dry locks (round-brushing is not required).

2. Wrap sections of hair loosely around the outside of a barrel curling iron to create easy waves and curls.

3. Loosely French-braid from one side to the other, working along the lower half of the mane.

4. Before securing the end of the braid, hold one section of the braid and gently slide the other two sections upward a bit to create a fluffier, piecier finish; secure braid end. Tweak pieces to achieve the final look you want.
